It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Auregan – the fetching-yet-tough-as-nails French siren that makes tricorns look fashionable. But she recently released her single 1798 (available on iTunes) along with a music video:
One video, four different flavors of our piratey French songstress – one of which appears to be undead. I don’t speak Frenchy, so I can only guess at the meaning of the lyrics – I assume they’re about me, and I’m quite flattered.
Ok, they didn’t hire the ACTUAL Blackbeard, because he doesn’t come cheap. But they hired a presentable lookalike.
And now, by the Law of Genre Assimilation (Jack Sparrow says “savvy” so now all pirates say “savvy”, De Niro played an airship pirate, so now steampunks are are piratey, Barbossa gets a pegleg and pirate-enthusiasts all buy hacksaws, etc), speech recognition software should henceforth be incorporated into every pirate persona. Make it so.
Here is the video you’ve been waiting for – Bilgemunky on stage, SINGING. Well, sorta. First listening, then reading, then singing. Badly. But with so much going on, you won’t even notice – that’s the power of Rustmonster 🙂
I don’t like the approach of winter any more than you do, but at least we have Christmas to look forward to. And this year it will be all the more special thanks to the efforts of Cap’n Slappy and Talderoy. Check it out and get your pre-order in today:
