The mixture was directly per the instructions provided by Dharma - http://www.dharmatrading.com/info/vat_dye.html.

The dye I used was 116: Brazilnut. On their website it appears sort of a slate-brown, but as you can see from my jacket, in hemp and linen it turned out more like the color of an old blackboard.</description>

		<description>I love Dharma&#039;s &quot;prison dye.&quot; Yes, it has some drawbacks, like color fastness, but most of the drawbacks work in your favor for a distressed final result. And yeah, putting dye in a wash machine is never a good idea.  You have more contol over the final color when you use a plastic tub and you don&#039;t have to clean out the machine when you&#039;re done.</description>
