Do I even need to review this album? I mean, seriously – all I need to do is say, “Pirate Christmas CD” and then add, “by The Bilge Pumps,” and then I’d guess most readers will immediately do the math and go running (to or from the album may vary from reader to reader )

OK, maybe some of you aren’t already familiar with The Bilge Pumps (seriously? I mean, don’t you even listen to Bilgemunky Radio?), so perhaps I should elaborate. The Bilge Pumps are a pirate shanty/comedy group. Yo Har Harrr, it’s Christmas at last! And what better way to enjoy the season than with Ol’ Chumbucket – co-creator of everyone’s *other* favorite holiday (that’s Talk Like a Pirate Day, ya scabs) – singing a very special Christmas carol?

Someone by the name of Chris Bartos saw fit to do a pirate Christmas tune accompanied by monkey puppets. Meaning that Chris Bartos is a total genius, am I right?

Not much of a video, I’ll grant. But the song is actually pretty fun. And Christmassy. And PIRATEY.

Arrr, is it a sea song or a commercial? It’s both!!!

Yeah, it’s Guildwars I think (I don’t really know – those games all look alike to me), and they’re meant to be singing. Actually, it’s Tom Smith singing, while a bunch of CGI knights in pirate capes stand around. Merry Christmas!

What’s that, you say? Gwen Stefani ain’t piratey? Well, this video begs to differ. And not Christmassy, you say? Check out Gwen’s swashbuckly sexy outfits, and tell me you give a festive flip whether it’s Christmassy or not. And if you ladies aren’t so readily impressed by Miss Stefani’s sex appeal, then you’ll surely be enraptured by her shoes.
